A catch-all e-mailbox is one that collects all the messages sent to inactive email addresses. For example, if your email address is info@domain.com, but someone miswrites it and sends a message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have configured. Only one single mailbox per domain name can have this feature activated and in this way you’ll never miss messages because the other party has an obsolete address or has made a mistake. The disadvantage of configuring a catch-all mailbox is that you may start receiving a lot of spam messages, but this problem can be resolved by using anti-spam protection software. It is also crucial to remember that a mailbox with an activated catch-all feature cannot redirect inbound email messages to a third-party address.

Catch-all Emails in Shared Hosting

In case you host a domain on our cloud hosting platform and you’ve got a shared hosting account, you will be able to activate the catch-all feature for any email mailbox that you create under the domain. The Hepsia hosting Control Panel’s Email Manager section comes with quite a lot of functions, but it’s extremely intuitive, so creating a catch-all mailbox requires just one single click of the mouse. All the email addresses that you have created will be enumerated in this section in alphabetical order and you will only need to click the "Catch-all" button pertaining to the respective email address. Our system will alert you if there’s already another catch-all mailbox enabled for that domain or if the one that you would like to be a catch-all mailbox has email forwarding activated, so you can either deactivate the latter feature or pick a different mailbox. Deactivating the catch-all feature is just as simple and requires yet another click on the very same button.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Hosting

The catch-all option can be enabled effortlessly if you’ve got a semi-dedicated server account with us. All the email addresses that you’ve created using the domains hosted in your semi-dedicated server account will be displayed in the Hepsia hosting Control Panel’s Email Manager section and you will notice a mini sign conveniently situated directly next to each one of them. With only a click of the mouse, you can enable or disable the catch-all option for any mailbox of your choice as long as there isn't another mailbox under that same domain with this option already enabled and there isn't active email forwarding. Alternatively, you can right-click on an email address and activate the feature using the menu that will come into sight. If any of the conditions for setting up a catch-all mailbox is not satisfied, our system will warn you, but will not disable or replace anything automatically.
